Levan Karalashvili, the director of "Tbilisi Central" talks about the increase in sales and says that after the end of the pandemic process, a stable growth has been observed and the sector is quite close to the 2019 rate.
The businessman also talks about the increase in sales and says that after the end of the pandemic process, a stable growth has been observed and the sector is quite close to the 2019 rate.
"Our specifics mainly include household appliances, so the Georgian market was not dependent on Russia or Ukraine. Thus, the war had no effect on supply chains and product supplies. Only 15-20% of the products came from these countries and it was easy to replace and rearrange that supply chain. Discontinuation of supply in this context has not had much impact on our sector," - said Karalashvili.
Karalashvili also discussed the possibilities for the brands that had to leave the sanctioned countries amid the Russia-Ukraine war. He said the portfolio will be definitely replayed, though not in the short term.
"It is too early to talk about the entry of new brands in the fashion industry and home appliances. Nothing special happened and this year, to be honest, we do not expect either, as, on the one hand, we are analyzing the post-pandemic shocks and, on the other hand, we are observing the current war and its effects. The portfolio that the brands had in our region will be replayed, but this year, I do not think it will be tangible in any way," - Karalashvili told Business Press News.
