
“The international digital connectivity summit, which was organized by the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, the Communications Commission of Georgia and the World Bank in Georgia, ended with the adoption of a declaration,” - the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia reports.
Reportedly, the text was presented to the participants of the summit by Guram Guramishvili, the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
"The development of international digital connectivity and data exchange centers is a strategic priority of Georgia. It is important for us that the dialogues and bilateral meetings carried out within the framework of the summit end with concrete results, which will contribute to the cooperation between the countries of the region in the direction of the development of stronger international digital corridors and data exchange centers, therefore, it is very important for the active cooperation of the public and private sectors on this issue," - Guram Guramishvili said.
As for the declaration adopted at the summit, it was supported by the delegations of all countries represented at the summit. According to the statement, digitalization plays an important role for all economic sectors and is an accelerator of improving people's lives by providing enormous potential for the development of the digital economy and information society.
The representatives of the countries of Europe, Central Asia, China and the Caucasus region took part in the Tbilisi Summit. The event was organized by the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, the country’s Communications Commission and the World Bank.
