“The goods procurement market has been opened for Georgian companies by the central authorities of the European Union. The decision of the Georgia-EU Association Council regarding this news was published in the official journal of the European Union. According to the Deputy Prime Minister/Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Levan Davitashvili, during the year, more than 250,000 public purchasers in the European Union acquire products worth two trillion euros. Under the decision of the Association Council, Georgian companies had the opportunity to fully access this market,” - the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia reports.
“This decision is the result of Georgia's complete fulfillment of the obligation defined by the association agenda. We think that this will be a new incentive for Georgian companies. At the same time, this is an important step forward in terms of Georgia's integration into the European economic space," - Levan Davitashvili said.
According to the Ministry of Economy, as a result of the decision of the Georgia-EU Association Council, any business registered in Georgia will have the right to participate in the procurements announced by the central authorities of the 27 member states of the European Union and to compete openly and fairly with other suppliers of the world in this market.
