Kakha Kaladze, Tbilisi’s incumbent mayor and the Georgian Dream–Democratic Georgia party’s candidate for re-election, met with residents of the Nadzaladevi district as part of his campaign efforts ahead of the upcoming city council elections.
During the meeting, Kaladze urged locals to support the party’s majoritarian candidates and highlighted both current and planned development projects across the capital. He expressed gratitude to the ruling team and party supporters, underscoring the importance of unity and civic involvement.
“We are all part of the effort to protect our country’s independence and sovereignty,” Kaladze stated. “Each citizen has a role to play in this process. Without peace, the development we strive for would not be possible.”
Addressing the challenges faced by the government, Kaladze pointed to continued resilience in the face of “attacks, slander, insults, and threats,” reaffirming the administration’s commitment to defending national interests. He also issued a strong message against foreign interference.
“Georgia will not accept pressure from outside forces,” he said. “A real friend would never urge a country to go to war.”
Kaladze described serving Tbilisi as both a privilege and a responsibility, and thanked residents for their continued support. He emphasized the importance of the upcoming vote on October 4, saying it would determine the future of key municipal projects including parks, public spaces, and housing initiatives.
“We will not leave any citizen alone with their problems,” Kaladze promised. “Peace is the foundation of progress—it is what brings prosperity to every household.”
The event was also attended by Levan Machavariani, head of Georgian Dream’s Tbilisi election headquarters, and the district’s majoritarian candidates, who received Kaladze’s public endorsement and best wishes for success in the elections.
