Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze has strongly criticized a protest rally held yesterday near the Georgian Dream election headquarters, calling the incident “shameful and sad.”
Kaladze specifically condemned the verbal attacks directed at Georgian Dream member Beka Odisharia, emphasizing that such behavior is unacceptable in a democratic society.
“A shameful and sad fact has happened,” Kaladze said. “Looking at the faces of these people, if Michael Jackson were alive, he would have reshot Thriller with their involvement—without makeup, artists, or costumes. These are ordinary ‘titushki.’ This is not the first time. Yesterday, Beka was the target; before that, other ordinary citizens. These people have lost their morality and culture.”
Despite the heated criticism, the Mayor urged for restraint and respect across political divides, noting that differing views should not lead to personal attacks or violence.
“Regardless of political differences, we must rise above everything. Let’s respect our culture and traditions, and not insult each other, either physically or verbally,” he concluded.
