According to the Ministry of Economy, the meeting underscored positive developments in bilateral trade and collaboration across key sectors such as trade, transport and logistics, finance, tourism, and civil aviation.
Minister Kvrivishvili highlighted that trade turnover between Georgia and the UK reached $170 million in 2024—a 7% increase compared to the same period last year. Notably, local exports to the UK rose by 43%. In the same year, British investments in Georgia totaled $448 million.
Emphasizing the need to strengthen ties between the two countries' business communities, the Minister called for enhanced government support to promote private sector cooperation. She advocated for more frequent business forums and trade missions, and highlighted the strategic importance of the Georgia–UK Free Trade Agreement, urging deeper collaboration under its framework.
Looking ahead, the Minister also discussed the upcoming launch of direct flights between Georgia and the UK, set for early 2025. The planned entry of British Airways and EasyJet into the Georgian market is expected to significantly boost economic ties—particularly in tourism, where the number of visitors from the UK to Georgia increased by 26% in the first half of 2025.
