Starbucks is officially entering the Georgian market. As BMG has exclusively learned, the brand’s expansion into Georgia is being led by the Alshaya Group, with its Turkish office managing operations in the country.
Representatives of the company have already visited Tbilisi several times, and the brand is expected to finalize remaining details within the week.
In the first phase, Starbucks will open locations in Tbilisi, Kutaisi, and Batumi. Over the next 7–8 years, the company is considering expanding to as many as 50 branches across Georgia.
According to BMG, the first Starbucks in Georgia will open in Tbilisi’s Vake district in March 2026. Another location is planned for Tbilisi Outlet Village. Guga Tsanava, shareholder and managing partner of “Georgian Outlets and Resorts Group,” confirmed that negotiations with the brand are actively ongoing.
“I’m not the one who can officially confirm their market entry, but I can say that discussions are indeed in progress. We are considering opening one store in Tbilisi Outlet Village. There was interest even before Covid, but the pandemic paused the process. Negotiations have been back on track for about a year now,” Tsanava told BMG.
It is not yet known how much Starbucks beverages will cost in Georgia.
For context, Starbucks is an American company headquartered in Seattle and is the largest coffeehouse chain in the world. The first Starbucks store opened in Seattle on March 30, 1971.
