
The Georgian National Tourism Administration said Vinos Y Caminos, a Spanish website on gastronomy and culture, had promoted the country’s winemaking history, cuisine and tourism potential.
The article on the website highlights the country’s winemaking history that spanned over 8,000 years as an oldest wine-producing region in the world. The archaeological studies confirmed Georgia as the cradle of wine with 525 indigenous grape varieties.
The outlet said the country’s gastronomy was a combination of food and wine traditions that included the hospitality of supra - the traditional Georgian feast.
The article also emphasised Georgia’s tourism potential as important for the country, with its attractions including 2,000 mineral springs and more than 12,000 historical and cultural monuments, four of them recognized as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
The GNTA also said wines from the country had been featured in Madrid Fusión congress in Spain last month, where guests and representatives of the culinary industry were also introduced to Georgian cuisine and tourist products at a national stand," - the Georgian National Tourism Administration said.
