A joint press release issued by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan announced the successful conclusion of a trilateral meeting held in Tbilisi on April 17, 2025. The meeting was convened at the initiative of Georgia’s Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili, Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, and Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.
Deputy Foreign Ministers Lasha Darsalia (Georgia), Vahan Kostanyan (Armenia), and Elnur Mammadov (Azerbaijan) participated in the discussions, marking the first formal trilateral dialogue among representatives of the three South Caucasus nations.
At the outset, the participants welcomed the launch of this new diplomatic format and emphasized the significant untapped potential for regional cooperation. They underlined that future collaboration must be grounded in mutual respect for each country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The talks centered on identifying areas of common interest to advance trilateral cooperation—particularly in ways that foster sustainable economic growth, address shared challenges, and contribute to long-term stability and development in the region. The meeting also served as an open forum for the exchange of ideas and perspectives on possible directions for joint initiatives.
Concluding the session, all parties commended the constructive and collegial atmosphere of the meeting, describing it as a promising first step toward building trust and laying the foundation for future high-level dialogue.
