
The share of the European Union in Georgia's exports has almost halved - in January-February, exports to the EU amounted to $115.8 million, which is only 12.6% of the total exports.
For comparison, in January-February last year, exports to the European Union were $159 million, which constituted 20.9% of Georgia's exports in this period.
Only two countries of the European Union - Bulgaria (34.6 million) and Spain (20 million) have been among Georgia's top trading partners by exports this year. The remaining positions were mainly occupied by post-Soviet countries.
The top five main export goods of Georgia in the European Union are divided as follows:
1. Copper ores and concentrates - $51.2 million, a 38% decrease compared to the previous year;
2. Nuts and walnuts - $9.8 million, a 8% decrease compared to the previous year;
3. Computers and blocks - $8.1 million, a 5,457% increase over the previous year;
4. Alcoholic beverages - $6.9 million, a 110% increase compared to the previous year;
5. Wines - $3.8 million, a 24% decrease compared to the previous year.
In return for the decrease in exports to the European Union, exports to the CIS countries increased sharply and amounted to $532 million, which is $202 million more than the previous year representing a maximum amount of historical data.
