"The so-called minister of foreign affairs of occupied Abkhazia, Sergei Shamba, has confirmed that Russia has limited the financing of Abkhazia since September 1 of this year and demanded the Abkhazian side to fulfill certain obligations.
According to Shamba, in Moscow, it was repeatedly stated that "non-fulfillment of the commitments may lead to certain sanctions".
"From September 1, their implementation has already started. As you know, some social funding has already been suspended, which concerns doctors, teachers, security forces and others. These are obviously the first such steps," Shamba was quoted as saying by the media.
He also commented on the possible deprivation of Russian citizenship for some members of the so-called parliament and representatives of opposition political forces.
According to Shamba, in today's world, deprivation of citizenship is a completely accepted sanction.
To be reminded, a few days ago, the media reported that Moscow planned to stop financial assistance to Abkhazia from September 1, until the Abkhazian side fulfills certain obligations, including the ratification of the agreement on mutual recognition of court and arbitration decisions, investment projects by Russian legal entities in the territory of Abkhazia. Ensuring the entry into force of the agreement on implementation, removal of restrictions for Russian investors in the market of commercial real estate (apartments).
