A Bulgarian-Georgian Spirituality and Culture Center has been inaugurated at the historic Petritsoni Monastery in Bulgaria, where the renowned Georgian theologian Ioane Petritsi once lived and worked. This marks a significant revival of centuries-old spiritual and cultural ties between the two nations.
The center includes three dedicated halls named after key historical figures: the brothers Grigol and Abas Bakurianisdze, builders of the Savane monastery; Grigol Petritsi, the monastery’s first abbot; and Ioane Petritsi, its first university rector. Additionally, the center houses a library named in honor of Saint Euthymius of Tarnovo, the revered 14th-century Bulgarian Patriarch and saint.
The opening ceremony, held in one of Eastern Europe's oldest Orthodox monasteries, was led by the Bulgarian Patriarch and members of the Georgian clergy, underscoring the deep-rooted spiritual and cultural bonds between Bulgaria and Georgia.
