
India's decision to restrict exports of 100% broken rice may affect Georgia as well.
The data published by the National Statistical Office of Georgia (Geostat) showed that one of the directions in rice import is "semi-broken or fully-broken, polished or unpolished, glazed or unglazed rice".
India is one of the major suppliers of broken rice to Georgia; it ranks second among the importing countries and accounts for 25% of total imports. In January-July 2022, Georgia purchased 1,699.69 tons of broken rice worth of $1 million 495 thousand 350 from India.
In total, Georgia bought 6,771.29 tons of rice worth of $4,913,960 within the first 7 months of 2022.

• India - $1,495,350 – 1,699.69 tons
• Russia - $530,420 - 530.85 tons
