Born in 1948 into the famed Ishkhnel sisters' musical family, Menabde built a rich career blending Georgian, Russian, and European musical traditions. She began performing with the orchestra "Reros" and gained wide recognition for her unique interpretations and powerful stage presence.
Her songs first appeared in Lana Ghoghoberidze's acclaimed film The Nights Are Over (Cannes Audience Award, 1982), where she also played a lead role. She later starred in Arsena’s Poem (1986) and The Wisdom of Lies (1991), directed by Nana Khatiskatsi.
Menabde also worked with Georgian folk-jazz groups “Shin” and “Adio,” and served as director of the music editorial office at Georgian Radio and Television.
Her legacy spans decades of contributions to Georgian music, film, and cultural life.
