Starting this year, pensions in Georgia have increased by ₾35, reaching ₾350 per month for individuals under 70 and ₾450 for those aged 70 and above, as announced by Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili. Pensioners in highland settlements will receive a 20% supplement, raising their pensions to ₾420 and ₾540, respectively.
The 2025 budget allocates ₾8.82 billion to the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons, Labour, Health, and Social Affairs, marking a ₾990.9 million increase from 2024. Social protection funding exceeds ₾6.35 billion, including ₾4.49 billion for pensions. The upper limit for state compensation and academic scholarships rises to ₾1,035, with death-related compensation increasing to ₾1,235.
Additional provisions include ₾1.63 billion for social assistance, ₾35 increases in allowances for disabled individuals, ₾200 monthly aid for children from low-income families, ₾113 million for highland social benefits, and ₾95 million for childcare and rehabilitation programs.
Healthcare funding stands at ₾1.85 billion, with ₾1.22 billion allocated to the universal healthcare program. This includes salary increases for primary healthcare staff, ₾100 million for medical facility upgrades, and ₾112 million for employment reforms. Support for internally displaced persons and migrants totals ₾268 million.
