“The only motive and task of our country's government, the Prime Minister, is to ultimately reflect on the well-being of our population,” - the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Levan Davitashvili said in his comments made to the media following the 2022 report of the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Gharibashvili.
As Levan Davitashvili pointed out, without good economic results and indicators, the government will not be able to implement the social, infrastructural, educational, etc., projects that the population of Georgia needs and on which the Prime Minister of Georgia made the main emphasis during the presentation of the annual report.
"In 2022, the world economy faced new challenges. In parallel with the pandemic, the Russia-Ukraine war, the tense geopolitical situation in the region put our economy in front of new challenges. Today it can be said that Georgia was able not only to maintain economic stability, but also to continue the trend of double-digit economic growth", - Irakli Gharibashvili said. According to the Prime Minister, GDP per capita in 2023 will exceed $7,900. In addition, in 2022, Georgia will have one of the highest economic growth rates in Europe and the region, and achieving the double-digit economic growth is realistic.
While talking about the prospects of economic growth and development of Georgia, Levan Davitashvili emphasized that the country should maintain stable economic growth and high economic indicators for years, so that the government can fulfill the tasks that the Georgian people set for it - to overcome poverty and bring more prosperity to citizens.
