“The opposition faced significant challenges following the CoE Secretary General’s visit to Georgia and the release of the OSCE/ODIHR report, which confirms the successful conduct of our parliamentary elections,” Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated during a Sunday press conference.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the OSCE/ODIHR report “fully dismissed” several major allegations raised by both the opposition and President Salome Zourabichvili.
“The report addressed several key accusations: First, regarding [ballot marking] leakage, this was not highlighted as a significant concern. In fact, vote secrecy was maintained in 76% of precincts, with only isolated incidents noted.
Second, the alleged issue of immigrant voting abroad was deemed irrelevant by the report.
Third, claims of [electoral] carousel, including allegations of 300,000 falsified votes and President Zourabichvili’s assertion of a voter casting 17 ballots, were not substantiated in the report.
Fourth, accusations of Russian interference were entirely absent from the findings.
Regarding violence, the report only noted isolated incidents. These findings effectively refute all major allegations made by the radical opposition,” Kobakhidze concluded.
