Another low-cost European airline is entering Georgia’s aviation market, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development announced.
Norwegian, Scandinavia’s second-largest airline, will begin operating in Georgia in summer 2026. Starting June 27, the airline will run direct, twice-weekly flights between Copenhagen and Tbilisi.
The ministry says Norwegian’s arrival shows the success of Georgia’s aviation strategy, especially its work to diversify markets. It also reflects the country’s growing tourism sector and its stronger position internationally.
Scandinavian countries are an important target for Georgia as it develops its aviation and tourism industries. The new direct route is expected to significantly improve travel links, boost tourist arrivals, and increase revenue from the sector.
This will be the first regular direct flight between the two capitals. Until now, the only direct connection with Copenhagen was through Kutaisi International Airport.
