The Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, with the support of the European Union and the German Reconstruction Credit Bank (KfW) and in cooperation with the company GOPA Intec, as part of the Georgian Energy Sector Reform Project (GESRP) is scheduled to join the European Mobility Week, which will be held in Tbilisi on September 16-22.
The European Mobility Week aims to raise awareness of sustainable urban mobility, encouraging travel by public transport, walking and cycling.
According to the First Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Romeo Mikautadze, the goal of the European Mobility Week is to inform every member of the society as much as possible about the issues of sustainable mobility and energy saving, which, ultimately, will have a positive impact on the country's sustainable future and energy security.
“The Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia supports this initiative, which serves to encourage sustainable mobility in order to promote the development of urban life and the creation of a healthy and clean environment", said the First Deputy Minister.
Georgian Energy Sector Reform (GESR) has been implemented since 2021. The program envisages the assistance of the Government of Georgia to implement reforms in the energy sector and fulfill the obligations that Georgia, as a member of the Energy Union, has undertaken in the following areas: energy efficiency, energy efficiency of buildings, promotion of renewable energies and the energy market.
