The majority members of the Georgian Parliament, along with members of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Monitoring Committee, convened to discuss several critical issues, including the Parliamentary Elections, recommendations from the OSCE/ODIHR, the current political climate, ongoing protest demonstrations, and opposition strategies, as reported by the Parliament’s press office.
Following the meeting, Irakli Kirtskhalia, the First Deputy Chair of the “Georgian Dream” Faction, emphasized that the Georgian MPs provided detailed and factual responses to the inquiries posed by the delegation.
“We consistently highlight the paramount importance of any monitoring or observation mission. We also welcome visits from our partner states or political groups, which are committed to ensuring an impartial reflection of all facts and circumstances in our country. Impartiality and truth are fundamental principles for us. We sincerely hope that the report developed by the monitoring committee members will reflect an impartial and fair account of the matters that our friends have shown interest in,” Kirtskhalia stated.
The meeting was attended by several Majority MPs, including Tea Tsulukiani, Givi Mikanadze, Rati Ionatamishvili, Zviad Shalamberidze, Levan Machavariani, Mariam Lashkhi, and Eka Sepashvili.
