Iman Humaydan was born in 1956. She is the author of four novels translated into many languages. Her latest novel "50 Grams of Paradise" won the Katara Prize in 2016, while - in 2017 - its French translation was found in a short list of the awards at the Institute of the Arab World in Paris.
Since 2015, Iman Humaydan has been a professor of Writing Studies at the 8th University of Paris. She is the co-founder and current president of the Lebanese Pen Center, as well as a member of the International Pen Center Board.
Currently, she is writing her fifth novel and living in Beirut and Paris. The publishing house "Intellect" published her novels in Georgian. The books were translated into Georgian by Darejan Gardavadze.
On October 22, within the framework of the 6th Tbilisi International Festival of Literature, another event will be held at the Writers' House.
The Tbilisi International Festival of Literature (TIFL) will be held for the sixth time on October 17-24. The festival was founded in 2015 and is held annually.
The Tbilisi International Festival of Literature is organized and hosted by the Writers' House. This year's festival will be held within the framework of the UNESCO project "Tbilisi - World Book Capital".
The main topic of this year’s program is the city as a symbol associated with the American poet and activist Lawrence Monsanto Ferlinghetti. A special place will be given to his work within the festival program.
