“It is very important to strengthen the economic ties between our two countries. Last year, Georgia's trade turnover with Armenia exceeded $one billion,” - the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Levan Davitashvili, said.
According to the Minister in general, Armenia is one of the main trade partners of Georgia.
"Armenia is a neighboring country, and during our last visit we signed a strategic cooperation agreement with them, and it is one of Georgia's strategic partners. Therefore, deepening and strengthening of economic ties is the task of the two countries. This is in the interest of both countries and, of course, makes the political ties even closer and strengthens them even more. We had a conversation about deepening of the economic ties and discussed trade relations. This is the field of energy, communications, transport, and also, new opportunities. The process of integration of Georgia into Europe is of course interesting for Armenia as well, it opens up new opportunities in terms of making investments in Georgia and access to a very important market. We also touched on the tourist direction. Georgia is one of the interesting and favorite destinations for the Armenian tourists. Therefore, it is very important for us to maintain this flow and the growing dynamic of cooperation in the field of tourism, and this was discussed in various extended formats", - Levan Davitashvili noted.
