"Last year, KazMunayGas and Socar finally signed an agreement, from 2023 we plan to supply 1.5 million tons of oil through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline. The process already started in March, the first two tankers were sent - it is 20 thousand tons of oil, while another 125 thousand tons are planned for April", - Zhumangarin said.
According to him, Baku also offers other oil transportation routes.
According to the minister, Kazakhstan is currently calculating the technical characteristics of the Baku-Supsa pipeline.
"Yesterday, the issue of creating a joint enterprise, which would be a single operator on this transit route, with a preferential tariff, cheap transit opportunities, and the use of innovative technologies, was discussed quite clearly", - Zhumangarin noted.
To be informed, on March 21, 2023, Kazakhstan directly supplied oil to Azerbaijan for the first time in history, bypassing Russia.
