A year has passed since the mass violence that took place on July 5, and the investigative bodies of Georgia have not yet identified the organizers of the attacks on journalists and activists' offices.
Those, who were the leaders of the homophobic and violent groups gathered in the central Tbilisi, now have an officially-registered political party and, like before, they do not shy away from violent threats against persons or groups they do not like.
The civil sector criticizes the investigation process regarding the July 5 violence, and the resolution adopted by the European Parliament states that the impunity of the perpetrators of such actions cannot be tolerated under any circumstances.
Lashkarava, beaten by a homophobic and violent group, is no longer alive today, and several journalists and cameramen have quitted their jobs professionally.
Tornike Vacheishvili, a camera operator at the Spacesnews information agency, also left the country.
"After July 5, my life changed. I experienced a lot of stress. Only those people, journalists and camera operators, know comprehensively what happened there and what might happen to you after that, both in your personal life and in terms of your profession. For me, it was very difficult to continue my job or living here. People, who attacked, insulted and threatened us, are still unpunished. Unfortunately, I did not feel safe in my homeland. It turned out to be dangerous for my life to continue my job and stay in my country," - Tornike Vacheishvili said, while talking to Spacesnews.

The mass violence was preceded by the statement of Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili, according to which, the March for Dignity was organized by the "radical opposition forces".
Aggressive persons, led by the Georgia-based pro-Russian television station Alt-Info, ransacked the tents of the opposition and the offices of activists, and physically assaulted the journalists, who came to cover the current events, and destroyed their equipment.
