
At the meeting of the Executive Council of the UN World Tourism Organization in Uzbekistan, along with various issues, the World Tourism Day celebration event planned for 2024 in Georgia, which will be attended by heads of tourism organizations from different countries of the world, was discussed. 38 countries of the European Commission unanimously supported holding a large-scale event in Georgia.
Plans for 2024-25, creation of UNWTO regional and thematic offices, sustainable tourism development initiatives and other issues were reviewed at the council meeting.
Mariam Kvrivishvili, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Maia Omiadze, Head of the National Tourism Administration, and Tamar Koriauli, First Deputy Head of the National Tourism Administration, are participating in the meetings of the UN World Tourism Organization General Assembly in Samarqand.
