According to preliminary data from Geostat, Georgia’s unemployment rate reached 14.3% in Q2 2025, up 0.6 percentage points from the same period in 2024.

Unemployment among men remained stable at 15.9%, while women's unemployment rose from 10.9% to 12.2%. The number of employed women fell by 20.9 thousand, driven by declines in both salaried employment (down 7.6k) and self-employment (down 13.1k).

In contrast, male employment rose slightly by 0.6 thousand. Although salaried positions for men decreased by 12.4 thousand, self-employment increased by 16.2 thousand, partially offsetting the drop.
