
As part of its 2024 report, the European Commission—through the European Centre for Anti-Corruption and State-Building Studies—has published the latest Judicial Independence Index. Georgia received a score of 6.63 out of 10, placing 36th globally and within the top 20 in Europe.
Notably, Georgia outperformed all other EU candidate countries, as well as 16 current EU and NATO member states, including Portugal, Italy, Greece, Latvia, Slovenia, Malta, Spain, Slovakia, Albania, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Poland, Croatia, Turkey, and North Macedonia.
The report also highlights Georgia’s strong performance in public sector integrity and transparency. According to the Centre’s findings, Georgia ranks 29th globally for public sector integrity and 19th for transparency.
