Indian airline IndiGo is expanding its operations in Georgia by launching direct flights from Mumbai to Tbilisi, following its existing Delhi–Tbilisi route.
According to Irakli Nadareishvili, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, IndiGo has been operating regular Delhi–Tbilisi flights since 2023, which significantly boosted Indian tourism to Georgia. In 2024 alone, 75,034 passengers traveled on this route.
The Civil Aviation Agency has granted IndiGo permission to operate the new Mumbai–Tbilisi route, with flights starting August 2. The airline will fly three times a week—on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays—through the end of the summer season.
Nadareishvili highlighted that these additional flights will not only strengthen aviation links between Georgia and India but also support the growth of Georgia’s tourism sector by tapping into India’s vast travel market. He added that expanding air connectivity remains a key priority for Georgia’s tourism and transport development strategies.
