Starting August 2, IndiGo—one of Asia's largest low-cost airlines—will begin operating three direct flights per week from Mumbai to Tbilisi, marking Mumbai as the second Indian city with direct air service to Georgia after Delhi. This will increase the total number of weekly direct flights between the two countries to ten.
Tamar Ioseliani, Chairperson of the Supervisory Board of the Georgian Airports Association, said the new route will further boost tourism, business, and cultural ties between Georgia and India. "Mumbai is India’s largest economic and cultural hub. This new connection clearly reflects India’s growing interest in Georgia," she noted.
IndiGo has already been operating daily flights between Delhi and Tbilisi. In the first half of 2025, 56,241 passengers traveled from India to Georgia via direct flights—marking a 123% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
IndiGo, which is expected to serve 112 million passengers in 2024, operates around 1,900 daily flights to over 600 destinations worldwide with a fleet of approximately 400 aircraft.
