
In January-April 2022, compared to the same period of 2021, the demand for air cargo trade in Georgia decreased by 3%.
According to the reports requested by AviaNews from the LEPL Georgian Civil Aviation Agency of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, it is clear that within the first four months of this year, the volumes of air cargo amounted to 5,901,256 tons, and in January-April 2021 - 6,096,489 tons. Accordingly, the cargo decline rate is 3.20%.
Compared to the January-April 2019 statistics, the cargo flow carried out by the Tbilisi International Airport in January-April 2022 decreased by 16.90%. In January-April 2019, the airport handled 7,101,153 tons of cargo.
In January-April 2020, the Tbilisi International Airport handled 4,849,520 tons of cargo, which means that in January-April 2022, there was a 21.69% increase in cargo turnover compared to the same period in 2020.
