"The above-mentioned decision belongs to the Prime Minister of Georgia and was implemented jointly with the involvement of the Regional Relations Department of the Government of Georgia. In total, more than 100 tons of cargo was mobilized. The humanitarian aid collected across the municipalities of Eastern Georgia was stored in Tbilisi, while the cargo from Western Georgia was placed in the Poti terminal. Together with the government agencies, the private and civil sectors were actively involved in the process of cargo mobilization.
The coordination process in Tbilisi was led by Merab Gamkrelidze, the Deputy Head of the Regional Relations Department of the Government of Georgia and in Poti – by Giorgi Guguchia, the State Representative of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti.
The humanitarian aid package includes non-perishable products, basic necessities, medical supplies and medicines. The aid will be sent to Ukraine tomorrow, March 12, while the campaign to help the country will continue,” - the press service of the Government Administration of Georgia reports.
