The National Environmental Agency of Georgia has forecasted intermittent precipitation in Georgia from December 17 to 19, with heavy snowfall and blizzards expected in mountainous and highland regions. The forecast also predicts strong westerly winds and a sea storm with intensity reaching 4-6 points.
The anticipated weather conditions may result in significant increases in river levels in Western Georgia, flash floods in smaller rivers, and the occurrence of landslides and mudslides in hilly areas. Additionally, there is an elevated risk of avalanches in high-mountain regions. The Agency has warned that due to heavy snowfall, avalanche hazards, loose ice, and reduced visibility, traffic restrictions could be enforced on certain road sections. The overall danger level has been assessed as medium.
