
In one year, the gross external debt of Georgia increased by $730.156 million, compared to the previous month, by $79.823 million.
According to the data published by the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, as of April 2023, gross external debt of Georgia exceeded $8.552 billion, at the current exchange rate it exceeded GEL 21.353 billion. As of April 2022, the amount of debt was 7.822 billion or GEL 23.930 billion at the then exchange rate. As for the data of March 2023, the gross external debt amounted to $8.473 billion, or GEL 21.694 billion at the then exchange rate.
As of April 2023, the largest creditors of Georgia are: the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the International Bank for Development (IBRD).
In particular, debt to the EIB is $1.012 billion; the gross external debt of Georgia to IBRD exceeds $1.336 billion, and to the Asian Development Bank (ADB) - $2.123 billion.
