Google Street View has officially launched in Georgia, in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia and the Innovation and Technology Agency.
According to the Ministry of Economy, specialized filming teams from Google will capture 360-degree panoramic images across 24 cities in Georgia over the next 12 months, starting in March 2025.
The project will cover approximately 15,000 kilometers, including major cities such as Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi, Rustavi, Akhaltsikhe, Mtskheta, Telavi, Zugdidi, Gori, Ozurgeti, Mestia, and more, with a special focus on roads and highways.
The 360-degree images of Georgian cities are set to be published in 2026. This new feature will significantly improve navigation and stimulate tourism by allowing potential visitors to explore the country and plan their trips in advance.
Street View images will feature only public properties and private spaces with prior permission for photography. Additionally, Google provides tools for users to request coverage of their home, vehicle, or themselves, and to report any inappropriate images for review and removal.
