
The Georgian National Statistics Service (GeoStat) has published the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) for 2025.
According to GeoStat, Georgia’s inflation rate in October, calculated using the EU HICP methodology, stood at 5.3%, slightly higher than the 5.2% rate measured using the national method.
Breakdown by category, based on the EU HICP methodology, is as follows:
Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages: 10.7%
Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco: 5.6%
Clothing and Footwear: 0.3%
Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas, and Other Fuels: 0.5%
Furniture, Household Equipment, and Routine Household Maintenance: 2.3%
Health: 9.1%
Transport: 0.8%
Communications: 2.7%
Recreation and Culture: 0.7%
Education: 2.0%
Hotels, Cafes, and Restaurants: 6.5%
Miscellaneous Goods and Services: 6.5%
This data highlights that the highest inflation was recorded in the Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages and Health categories, while Clothing, Footwear, and Transport experienced relatively low price growth.
