The Unit Value Index of Agricultural Products fell by 2.4 percent in the third quarter compared to the previous quarter, according to the National Statistics Service of Georgia (GeoStat).
GeoStat reports that the decline was primarily driven by a 24.2 percent drop in the unit value of nonperennial crops, which accounted for -6.1 percentage points of the overall index change.
Year-on-year, however, the index increased by 11.3 percent. This rise was largely attributed to a 9.3 percent increase in the unit value of live animals and animal products, contributing 5.19 percentage points to the annual change.
During the same period, the unit value of perennial crops grew by 9.4 percent, while nonperennial crops increased by 23.2 percent, contributing 2.13 and 3.98 percentage points, respectively, to the total year-on-year index change.
