As of December 2021, the amount of debt was $8.205 billion or GEL 25.416 billion according to the then exchange rate. As for the data of November 2022, Georgia’s external debt amounted to $7.918 billion, or 21.501 billion GEL as the then exchange rate shows.
As of December 2022, the key creditors of the Georgian state are: the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the International Bank for Development (IBRD).
In particular, Georgia’s external debt to the EIB is $919.651 million, to the IBRD – more than $1.304 billion, while to the Asian Development Bank (ADB) - $2.072 billion.
