
In January-October 2022, Georgia’s foreign trade turnover in goods (without undeclared trade) was $15,228.4 million, which is 33.5% more compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. Out of this, the export revenue amounted to $4,546.0 mln (increased by 34.0%), while the import revenue - to $10,682.4 mln (33.3% more). The trade deficit of Georgia in January-October 2022 was $ 6 136.4 million, which is 40.3% of foreign trade turnover.
According to the results published by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GEOSTAT), in January-October 2022, the share of Georgia’s top-ten trading partners in the total export of the country amounted to 78.9%. The list of the top three exporters was formed as follows: China (US$ 607.5 million), Azerbaijan (US$ 541.7 million) and Russia (US$ 530.3 million).
In January-October 2022, the share of Georgia’s top-ten trading partners in the total import of the country amounted to 67.4%. The top three list includes: Turkey ($1,916.4 million), Russia ($1,416.0 million) and China ($921.0 million).
The largest import commodity group in January-October 2022 was presented in the form of light vehicles, the import revenue of which amounted to $1,222.9 million and accounted for 11.4% of all imports. The second place was occupied by oil and oil products with $1 136.0 million (10.6% of imports), and copper ores and concentrates ranked 3rd with $623.1 million (5.8% of imports).
