Acting Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, expressed his willingness to engage with the European Union's technical mission regarding alleged irregularities in the country's parliamentary elections last month.
Speaking on Imedi Live, Kobakhidze confirmed that a Georgian technical team would work with the EU mission to address their concerns.
"The technical mission will certainly be met by our own technical team. If there is any interest, we invite our agency representatives to meet with EU officials. We will learn about their concerns and, based on that, we will provide answers to all questions," he stated.
His comments followed an announcement earlier this month by Josep Borrell, the European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, regarding the deployment of a technical mission to Georgia. Borrell expressed concerns about the election process, suggesting it reflected "democratic backsliding" under the current Georgian government.
