In a speech at the 2025 Raisina Dialogue in New Delhi, Georgia's Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili highlighted the geopolitical challenges and opportunities facing Georgia.
"Georgia, while small, sits at the crossroads of East and West, offering both challenges and opportunities," she stated. She emphasized Georgia's role in connecting regions historically, from the Silk Road to modern energy and transport projects, particularly with neighbors like Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Armenia.
Botchorishvili also stressed the importance of Black Sea connectivity and Georgia’s ongoing efforts to integrate it with the European Union. "We consider ourselves part of Europe, and European security is our concern," she said. Additionally, she pointed to the significant potential of the Middle Corridor and infrastructure development in the region.
However, she also acknowledged the security challenges posed by Russia's occupation of Georgian territories, which remains a critical threat. Despite these challenges, Georgia has made significant strides in economic development and reforms, ranking highly in global business and governance indicators. These efforts, she noted, are essential for navigating both security threats and opportunities.
