Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, in his annual report to Parliament, underscored Georgia’s strategic geographical position, calling it a historic bridge between continents.
"Georgia boasts a strategic location. Throughout history, we have served as a vital link between Europe and Asia, the West and the East. Our goal now is to fully harness this natural advantage,” stated the Prime Minister.
He emphasized that the country’s ongoing large-scale infrastructure projects are key to enhancing Georgia’s role as a regional transit and connectivity hub.
“One of our top priorities is improving national and regional connectivity—this is our historical mission. Georgia has always served as a connector between continents, and we are committed to realizing this potential to the fullest. The infrastructure initiatives we’re implementing—ranging from highway construction to railway upgrades, port developments, and new airports—are all designed to advance this goal,” he explained.
The Prime Minister also highlighted a recent achievement: “Just two weeks ago, we inaugurated the Tbilisi Dry Port, developed with Arab investment. This marks a significant milestone in strengthening Georgia’s position as a regional logistics center and advancing our broader connectivity ambitions.”
