Georgia exported 18,200 tons of hazelnuts between August 1, 2024, and July 31, 2025, marking a significant 25% increase compared to the previous year, according to the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture.
The total export value reached USD 119.7 million, reflecting a 45% year-over-year growth—an increase of USD 36.9 million. The average export price also rose to USD 6.59 per kilogram, up 16% from the same period last year.
The European Union remains the primary destination for Georgian hazelnuts, with key markets including Italy, Spain, Germany, France, Poland, and the Czech Republic. Beyond Europe, Georgian hazelnuts were exported to Armenia, Turkiye, China, Morocco, Russia, and Algeria, the Ministry noted.
This growth underscores Georgia’s strengthening position in global nut exports and highlights the sector's increasing economic significance.
