Levan Davitashvili, the First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, held a meeting with U.S. Ambassador to Georgia, Robin Dunnigan, to explore new avenues for economic cooperation with the incoming U.S. administration, as reported by Georgia’s Ministry of Economy.
Davitashvili shared Georgia’s key economic priorities and emphasized opportunities for strengthened bilateral ties. The discussions focused on areas such as innovation and technology, trade, transport and logistics, the Middle Corridor, investment promotion, and the energy sector, all within the context of the new U.S. administration’s priorities.
A significant point of the conversation was Georgia’s upcoming technology hub in San Francisco, set to launch later this year. This hub will play a crucial role in supporting Georgian startups by aiding their expansion into global markets. It will also serve as a magnet for international tech companies, venture funds, and angel investors, further enhancing Georgia’s innovation landscape.
Ambassador Dunnigan expressed strong support from the U.S. Embassy for the project, which will be jointly carried out by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and the Innovation and Technology Agency of the Ministry of Economy.
Additionally, the meeting touched on efforts to facilitate trade missions between Georgia and the United States.
