Segment Highlights:

Residential construction costs increased by 0.3% from April and 8.9% compared to May 2024.

Non-residential construction saw a 0.7% monthly decline but posted a 1.6% annual increase.

Civil engineering projects rose by 0.5% month-on-month and by 2.2% year-on-year.
The monthly increase was primarily driven by a 0.3% rise in construction material prices, contributing 0.18 percentage points to the total index growth.
On an annual basis, the 5.0% rise in the CCI was largely attributed to:

A 17.8% increase in average monthly nominal wages in the construction sector (adding 3.62 percentage points).

A 2.0% rise in construction material prices (adding 1.23 percentage points).
Since February 2022, the overall Construction Cost Index has increased by 23.1%.
