
In Q4 2024, the business sector turnover increased by 10.0% year-on-year, reaching 62.0 billion GEL, according to GeoStat. Production value rose by 10.8%, totaling 23.5 billion GEL.
Large businesses accounted for 67.6% of turnover, medium-sized businesses for 14.9%, and small businesses for 17.5%. Production value distribution was 43.8% for large businesses, 25.1% for medium, and 31.1% for small businesses.
Total purchases of goods and services amounted to 33.2 billion GEL (up 8.6% year-on-year), while purchases for resale reached 18.8 billion GEL (down 0.6%). The average number of employees in the sector was 811.8 thousand (up 3.8%), with 43.7% women and 56.3% men. Large businesses employed 41.7%, medium 21.5%, and small businesses 36.9%.
Total personnel costs were 5.5 billion GEL (up 10.9%). The average monthly salary was 2,367 GEL, with women earning 1,847 GEL on average. By business size, average salaries were 2,466 GEL for large, 2,750 GEL for medium, and 1,970 GEL for small businesses.
The arts, entertainment, and recreation sector had the highest turnover share (35.1%), followed by trade (33.7%), construction (7.0%), manufacturing (6.9%), and transportation and storage (4.6%). By production value, construction led with 20.5%, followed by trade (18.6%), manufacturing (17.6%), and transportation and storage (9.5%).
Trade, manufacturing, and health and social work activities employed the most people, with respective shares of 28.5%, 11.3%, and 9.2%.
