
According to the Georgian National Statistics Office (GeoStat), Georgia’s business sector demonstrated significant growth in the first quarter (Q1) of 2025. Compared to the same period in 2024, total business turnover rose by 14.5%, reaching 56.0 billion GEL.
Production value in the sector also increased, totaling 20.7 billion GEL—an annual growth of 15.6%.
Business Turnover and Structure
Large businesses accounted for the majority of total turnover (70.6%), followed by small businesses (15.9%) and medium-sized enterprises (13.5%). The structure differed for production value:

Expenditures and Employment
Total purchases of goods and services by businesses amounted to 28.8 billion GEL in Q1 2025, marking an 11.9% increase year-on-year. Purchases for resale reached 17.2 billion GEL, up 7.9% from the previous year.
The average number of people employed in the business sector stood at 771,000—2.9% more than in Q1 2024. Of these, 43.9% were women and 56.1% men.

Total employees numbered 718,900, reflecting a 2.2% year-on-year increase.
Salaries and Personnel Costs
Personnel costs reached 4.78 billion GEL, up 11.9% annually. The average monthly salary across the business sector was 2,169.6 GEL—a 184.2 GEL increase from the previous year. For women, the average salary was 1,711.5 GEL, 152.3 GEL more than a year earlier.
