The first four months of 2025 have marked a record-breaking period for Georgia’s aviation industry. The country’s three international airports collectively served around 2.2 million passengers—a 13% increase compared to the same period last year.
According to Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili, this milestone represents the highest passenger volume ever recorded in Georgia’s aviation history.
Flight operations have also seen notable growth, with a 16% increase in the number of flights handled across the country's airports.
“This growth confirms that Georgia remains a highly attractive tourist destination,” Kvrivishvili said. “The addition of four new airlines—British Airways, EasyJet, Edelweiss, and Transavia France—has expanded our network and strengthened links with key international markets. This not only boosts passenger numbers but also enhances our connectivity and tourism potential.”
She added that the government is actively engaged in talks with major global airlines to further develop the aviation and tourism sectors.
In addition, Air Serbia is set to launch regular flights between Tbilisi and Belgrade, further expanding Georgia’s international air connections.
“These advancements will play a crucial role in reinforcing our tourism and aviation industries, driving economic growth,” Kvrivishvili concluded.
