Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Solomon Pavliashvili, led Georgia’s delegation to the Seoul Wine & Spirits Expo 2025 - one of Asia’s premier wine industry events - held in the Republic of Korea. Six Georgian wine companies took part, showcasing their products to local professionals, importers, and media.
Pavliashvili emphasized Georgia’s ancient winemaking heritage and the government's ongoing efforts to diversify export markets and strengthen international partnerships. “Our visit aims to raise awareness of Georgian wine in Korea and support producers in expanding into new markets,” he said.
The delegation also included Zurab Vacharadze, Deputy Chairman of the National Wine Agency, and Ambassador Tarash Papasqua. As part of the expo, a Georgian Wine Festival was held, featuring masterclasses, tastings, and a fusion of Georgian wine with Korean cuisine.
Meetings with Korean industry representatives focused on expanding export opportunities and launching joint initiatives. According to 2024 data, Georgia exported around 72,500 liters of wine to Korea, a 26% increase from the previous year. In the first five months of 2025 alone, exports rose by 52%, reaching approximately 32,000 liters.
