
“The Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia Otar Shamugia met with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Georgia, Zhou Qian,” - the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia reports.
"At the meeting, the parties talked about the importance of the 30-year cooperation between Georgia and the People's Republic of China and the agreement on free trade between the countries.
Otar Shamugia thanked the Ambassador for the technical support provided by the People's Republic of China in the fight against the stink bug (or Asian Parosana as the Georgians call it), and for the implementation of important projects in the direction of reclamation infrastructure and greenhouses in Georgia.
Zhou Qian noted at the meeting that “Georgia has a great opportunity to develop agriculture; Georgian wine is special and there is a real potential for stable export growth in the Chinese market.” According to the Ambassador, there is a desire to further deepen cooperation between Georgia and China in the agricultural direction.
