According to the Enterprise Georgia Agency, Gamarjoba, a domestic producer who has sold tea under multiple trademarks, had reached an agreement with the Czech chain with the benefit of the Programme.
It will sell premium-quality tea varieties, made from pesticide-free leaves in mountainous areas of western Georgia’s Guria region, in the Oxalis chain.
The company benefited from the state initiative in being able to cover its expenses associated with entry fees - a common requirement in the market which has often posed a challenge for small and medium-sized businesses - to complete its entry into the Czech market, the body also said.
A Georgian-made alcoholic beverage, produced with tea infusion, is already sold in the Czech Republic.
The Enterprise Georgia launched its pilot Export Assistance Programme last year, with the goal of increasing domestic product export volumes and boosting international competitiveness of domestic products.
